Late afternoon: 3/8/16 Fire Start began as a smoke investigation. Local crews located the fire in the early evening.
Fire is located in rugged terrain inaccessible by engines and partially accessible by UTV.
Fuel Type: The fire is burning in hardwood leaf litter and mountain laurel shrub in an area with heavy gypsy moth oak kill.
Fire behavior was a running surface fire at the outset.
Overnight humidity recovery moderated fire behavior
slopes at the south end of the fire.

The fire is currently 85% contained with 50.8 acres burned. It is in patrol status with all active fire knocked down.
